Keep up that Energy with Foods that Increase Your Energy

It is always a struggle to fight fatigue when you have a busy lifestyle. Start replenishing yourself with some fruits and veggies, rich in vitamins and minerals, to regain your energy levels. Here are some of my favorite foods that may help increase your energy levels and give you that extra boost:

Almond Nuts great source of Protein and Vitamin E, excellent for the heart and can reduce the risk of heart disease. Almonds are low in saturated fats and can satisfy ones appetite on a busy day at the office if you have did not get a chance to grab lunch!

Broccoli- high in vitamin K and Calcium, its also contains indole-3-carbinol, a powerful antioxidant compound and anti-carcinogen which may decrease, cervical and prostate cancer, while also boostine liver function

Lentils- Apart from being a great source of low-fat protein, lentils can also prevent constipation and increase your iron levels especially for those who don’t eat red meat like vegans and vegetarians.

Eggs- a perfect food, eggs are very high in Lutein and Zeaxanthin, which promotes eye health. Beneficial minerals are calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, and selenium. Eggs are also one of the few food sources that are rich in vitamin D which is important for bone health. You can also benefit hair and nail growth from eating eggs, including beautiful skin.

Yogurt- great source of “friendly bacteria” or Probiotics which help boost your immune system and your digestive system. Yogurt is especially beneficial to most women who want to prevent yeast infections. It also acts an anti-inflammatory for severe bowel movement diarrhea or constipation.

Fish(Wild Salmon)- Omega 3’s are especially beneficial for brain health and circulation of the heart. To protect the nervous system its there are also vitamin A and D and other amino acids. Grill, broil, bake or eat it raw, salmon is a powerful addition to your healthy lifestyle.

Oranges- never ignore the power of Vitamin C! Helps boost your immune system and protect you from colds and the flu. It’s easy to eat and very delicious. Oranges are great for reducing fatigue as well.

So, why not try a green apple first thing in the morning to wake you up instead of coffee. They have a crisp, sour flavor that helps liver detoxification, especially if they eat the seeds!
